AFTER three lockdowns and a lot of time away from the stage, the entertainment industry is returning from a rocky patch.

However, the Parr Hall is flying the flag high for how to come back with a bang.

We caught up with venue and events manager Chris Persoglio to see how things have gone – and he is pleased with the past six months.

He said: “I’m surprised how busy we’ve been to be honest. We were unsure how people would feel about returning to live events but it has been outstanding now that people have come through the doors.

“There is nothing like it is there? Even with streaming – and that has been great throughout lockdown – there is nothing like the energy and atmosphere of a live show.

“It’s been a really, really busy season anyway because of the amount of rescheduled shows.

"Autumn is our busiest season anyway but this year was especially busy because a lot of shows have fallen back into that period including some huge shows.

“It’s been amazing to come back with such a strong season with the likes of Robert Plant, The Script and lots of comedy shows.

“We were unsure how people would feel about returning to live shows and if they would be a bit reluctant due to coronavirus and what has happened.

“For the majority, the feedback that we have got people couldn’t wait to return to live events.”

The Parr Hall has hosted some big names in recent months – and Chris picked out a few shows that particularly stand out to him.

The Latchford resident added: “The Script was a great one to work on for the two album launch shows.

“Also managing to get Robert Plant and his band, Saving Grace, to play just before Christmas was great. We turned that around quite quickly.

Zed Zeppelin never played the Parr Hall so to have Robert Plant at the venue was probably one of my favourites of the season.”

And after a return labelled as ‘outstanding’, Chris believes the team need to continue in the same vein to keep moving forward.

“I think we have got a brilliant season lined up for the next season,” continued the former Woolston High student.

“Ticket sales are doing well and people have definitely shown they are ready to return to live events so I think it is just building on the audience we have already got, continuing with what we are doing and giving the people what they want.

“Watch this space for a lot of exciting things coming up.”
