ONE of Warrington’s main roads will be closed from next week for resurfacing.

From tomorrow, Monday January 24, the A49 Winwick Road/Newton Road Southbound from the M62 to Sandy Lane West will be closed between 7pm and 1am for up to six weeks.

All roads will be fully open to traffic outside these times.

The alternative route will be A49 Newton Road (north), Hollins Lane, Watery Lane, Mill Lane, Calver Road and Cromwell Avenue.

Upgrading works to the 'Mill Lane' bus stop, and installation of several pedestrian drop crossing points will also be carried out during the works.

The road will be open to traffic with a lane closure when the work takes place after Winwick Road/Newton Road has been resurfaced, and will take up to two weeks to complete.

Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times and information on bus diversions will be posted at stops prior to commencement of the works
