A MAN was arrested after he was reportedly seen walking in the middle of a road while carrying a knife last night.
Police were called to Whitethroat Walk in Birchwood shortly before 9pm yesterday, Tuesday, after receiving the reports from members of the public.
Officers detained a 43-year-old man on suspicion of possession of a bladed article in a public place in connection with the incident.
He remains in custody this afternoon, Wednesday.
A Cheshire Police spokesman said: “Officers were called just before 9pm on Tuesday, January 11, following reports of a man who was believed to have a knife walking in the middle of a road in the Whitethroat Walk area of Birchwood.
“At no point did the man make any threats towards anyone.
“Police swiftly attended and arrested a 43-year-old man on suspicion of possession of a bladed article in a public place.
“He remains in custody assisting police with their enquiries.”
