A MAN and woman from Warrington were arrested after police chased a stolen car that had been travelling at "high speed" on the M62.
The white Volkswagen CC came to the police's attention on Saturday after it undertook an unmarked police car on the motorway.
The car failed to stop and it was followed by officers into St Helens.
The pursuit eventually came to a halt when the Volkswagen struck a kerb in Parr.
In a statement, Merseyside Police said: "A 29-year-old man from Warrington was arrested on suspicion of burglary and drug driving; a 16-year-old female from St Helens and a 17-year-old female from Warrington were arrested on suspicion of burglary and being carried in a motor vehicle without owner’s consent."
The chase involved marked and unmarked police cars
It is believed the car was stolen in a burglary in Yorkshire in August 2021.
Police added that all three suspects have been released on bail pending further enquiries.
