A STOCKTON Heath restaurant will be offering free vegan food across January as part of ‘Veganuary’.

Founder and owner of Olive Tree Brasserie, Dean Wilson made the transition to eating vegan food two years ago and is now encouraging others to try it.

Having been an animal lover, his awareness and interest in going vegan spiked after becoming increasingly aware of some of the health and environmental benefits of the lifestyle change.

Dean said: “I’ve always been interested in and conscious of the huge environmental impact that we as the hospitality industry have.

“I’m ready to lead by example, making considerable eco-friendly improvements across my restaurants and educating my team so that they can, in turn, make positive lifestyle changes.’’

Dean has also launched a heavily discounted dining scheme for all Olive Tree Brasserie staff choosing vegan dishes.

Going forward, he has plans to make 50 per cent of his menu vegan friendly by 2022.

*One free vegan dish per person, per day with any drinks order of £6 or more. Bookings must be made online, quote ‘FREEVEGAN’ to enjoy your free dish. Available Sunday – Friday throughout January 2022. Subject to availability. Excludes Sunday Roasts.
