VULNERABLE families across the country will benefit from generous support by a Warrington firm.

Westbrook-headquartered AlphaBiolabs has donated £100 per day for 11 days to 11 Trussell Trust food banks across the UK.

This comes through the DNA, drug, alcohol and Covid-19 testing service’s annual 12 Days of Christmas campaign.

The national campaign began on December 6 with a donation to Warrington Foodbank at Tanning Court, with members of the AlphaBiolabs team delivering £100 worth of food items.

On day 12, a £1,000 donation was also made to Cash for Kids – a grant-giving charity that helps disadvantaged children across the UK.

But the company’s fundraising efforts this year have gone beyond Christmas donations.

From mid-2021, it also pledged to donate £5 from every legal instruction received as part of its Giving Back campaign, raising £19,000 for its four charity partners in the first six months.

This is something the firm will continue into 2022.

Rachel Davenport, commercial director at AlphaBiolabs, said: “Giving back is so important, especially after all that has happened over the last 12 months.

“With our annual 12 Days of Christmas initiative, we want to make a positive difference to some of the children and families who have struggled throughout the year, in the hope that we can make the festive season that little bit brighter for them.

“Through our work, we have regular contact with many people who are undergoing legal or court-instructed DNA, drug and alcohol testing, and who find themselves struggling with some aspects of everyday life.

“That is why our Giving Back campaign is so important, as we wanted to recognise the incredible efforts of these charities, all of whom do amazing work with some of the UK’s most vulnerable children and families.”
