FORMER Warrington Wolves women's captain Roxy Murdoch has found herself a new NRL club.

The second rower will turn out for Brisbane Broncos in the 2022 NRLW competition having been due to play for Sydney Roosters this year before Covid forced a delay in the competition.

Murdoch – the wife of former Wire forward Ben Murdoch-Masila – skippered The Wire in their inaugural year and led them to promotion from the Women's Championship.

Ben's move to New Zealand Warriors for 2021 saw her head back Down Under with her husband and daughter Acacia-Rose, but they remain in Australia following the Warriors' decision to base themselves in Queensland for 2022l, with Covid continuing to cause difficulties with travel.

“Roxy is a skilful backrower who is going to be a fantastic asset to our team and club," Broncos NRLW coach Kelvin Wright said.

"We’d like to thank the Sydney Roosters for their co-operation throughout the transfer process.”

Murdoch also represented the NZ Maori All-Stars team during 2021 and has previously stated a desire to play for England at next year's Rugby League World Cup.
