THESE are the pizza places that can’t be topped.

With the help of TripAdvisor, we have narrowed down the seven best pizza places in Warrington – given its National Pizza Week which runs from November 22 - 28.

Donatello

The Orford Lane pizzeria leads the rankings this year.

It has been labelled the best food in town by one recent reviewer.

They said: “From start, to finish, the food was excellent staff were attentive and friendly and the atmosphere was really good. It may not be the cheapest but it is worth every penny.”

Delgado’s

The Penketh restaurant is still up there with the best.

Another reviewer said: “Lovely meal at Delgado's this evening. Good quality food and good service. We will be coming back again.”

Rudy's Neapolitan Pizza

In the heart of Stockton Heath, Rudy’s is always well-visited and it is for good reason.

A very impressed visitor said: “This place is a jewel. The staff are very friendly, attentive and very efficient – this place is very popular but we never wait for food long. The food is very tasty, fresh and made following Italian recipes.

“The pizza base is the best I have ever had, thin and easy to digest (I normally can't have pizza). But what I like about Rudy's the most is the atmosphere created by all of the people who work there.”

Pizza Express

The pizza chain – based in Stockton Heath – is well-versed in impressing residents across Warrington.

Gemma said: “We came for an impromptu birthday meal out for my husband with our son who has special needs. All staff and especially the manager and chefs were amazing with our son.

“From sitting us at a table he felt comfortable as he panics in busy environments, to letting him make dough balls and trying to spin a pizza The food was amazing and we all had a fantastic time.”

San Lorenzo

The venue at Palmyra Square South is one of the best in town.

Harvey, visiting from Peterborough, said: “Looked on TripAdvisor for a good Italian to visit as we did not know the area and took a chance on this one. Great looking from outside in a nice area of twin. Visited on a Monday and was busy. Great friendly service and had the Italian special Tapas night. Plenty to eat, great drinks and a very enjoyable evening – the best of the week. Would go back if visit that area again.”

Dough Dough

The Golden Square pizzeria has been known to ‘thoroughly impress’ guests.

A visitor said: “Don't hesitate to book a meal at Dough Dough. We visited as a family on Tuesday evening for my little boys birthday, it was our first time here but we had a brilliant visit so will be back again.”

Cheshire Pizza

Based in Grappenhall, Cheshire Pizza is tucked away just off Knutsford Road.

A reviewer reckons despite being seventh in the pizza charts, they do in fact have the best pizza in town.

They said: “Have become a regular for takeaway, looking forward to trying the restaurant. The pizzas are excellent, wouldn’t go anywhere else now.”

Apologies for the poor pizza jokes – it’s all about the delivery.
