The M62 was closed in both directions after the crash at round 3am this morning
THE M62 has fully reopened following a serious crash in the early hours of this morning, Wednesday.
Both sides of the motorway had initially been closed after the crash, which happened at around 3am between junction seven for Rainhill Stoops and junction eight for Burtonwood.

North West Motorway Police confirmed that the westbound carriageway could reopen at around 5am, but the highway heading eastbound remained closed.
National Highways have now however confirmed that the motorway has fully reopened in both directions.
