THE demolition job of the former Springbrook pub in Grappenhall has begun.

Work to knock down the Stockport Road pub has begun with McGoff Construction using a forklift to remove the roof of the entrance.

The dining area of the pub at the rear has been largely knocked down with just its steel frame remaining and outer structure.

Trucks and diggers had also taken up the car park and brickwork outside of the building.

The site will be transformed into an £11m care facility which will become a 70-bed care home.
