THE demolition job of the former Springbrook pub in Grappenhall has begun.
Work to knock down the Stockport Road pub has begun with McGoff Construction using a forklift to remove the roof of the entrance.
The dining area of the pub at the rear has been largely knocked down with just its steel frame remaining and outer structure.
Trucks and diggers had also taken up the car park and brickwork outside of the building.
The site will be transformed into an £11m care facility which will become a 70-bed care home.
It will be able to offer approximately 80 full-time jobs across a variety of different roles.
The facility will boast fully furnished bedrooms with en-suite wet rooms, communal lounges and dining rooms, spa-assisted bathrooms, a hair salon, nail bar and landscaped front and rear gardens.

It will also provide clinical offerings including residential, nursing and dementia care, with all residents receiving individual person-centred care that is enhanced by a programme of daily activities and trips.
