TIM Hortons says it is ‘thrilled’ to be opening its second branch in Warrington.

The Canadian coffee giant is set to open a drive-thru store in the former Frankie and Benny’s restaurant at Gemini 8, as revealed by the Warrington Guardian last month.

Warrington Guardian:

It will be the chain’s second premises in the town, the Golden Square Shopping Centre site having opened back in 2017.

Tim Hortons has now officially confirmed the move, alongside another new branch in Stockport as part of its plans to open in every major town and city in the UK by 2022.

The coffee shop is expected to be open by Christmas, creating 40 jobs.

Chief commercial officer Kevin Hydes said of the announcement: "We’re thrilled to be able to bring two brand-new drive thru restaurants to the north west – our first in Stockport, and our second restaurant within Warrington.

“Our guests have been very keen to get more drive-thru options locally and we’re really looking forward to being that bit closer to our fans.

“We are proud to be investing in the local community and know that there is a wealth of talent, so we will be looking to recruit a variety of full and part-time roles very soon.

“Not only that, but we encourage local fans of Tim Hortons to keep an eye out for more news as we develop our plans for a big opening.”

An application for planning permission has been submitted to Warrington Borough Council as part of the conversion of the unit.

The popular Frankie and Benny’s eatery permanently closed its doors in June this year.
