Latest of our occasional picture features focused on Warrington Wolves stars before they became a Wire, with George Williams in the spotlight this week...

GEORGE Williams is now a fully fledged Wire, of course, but it can be fascinating to look back at pictures of their career before they pulled on a primrose and blue shirt.

In the case of the 27-year-old stand-off, he came through the ranks at his hometown club Wigan Warriors and spent seven years in the first team.

That was followed by a season and half in Australia with Canberra Raiders before making the move to The Halliwell Jones Stadium in July.

Along the way there have been appearances and tours with England and Great Britain, when he previously spent time with some of his current Wire teammates.

He won two Super League titles during his time with Wigan as well as the 2017 World Club Challenge. Prior to Wire, in total, Williams crossed for 73 tries in 220 career appearances for club and country.
