WARRINGTON is one of the country’s housing hotspots according to a new study.
Research carried out by Clothes2Order ranked the town in second place in a list of towns and cities in England experiencing ‘building booms’.
The survey measured factors including the number of available constructions jobs and homes being built, as well as the number and success rate of applications for planning permission, in compiling the list.
Only Huddersfield placed higher than the borough, with the only other areas in the north west featuring in the top 10 being Manchester in sixth and Bolton in 10th.
A spokesman said: “We wanted to find out which parts of the country are the biggest building hotspots.
“By combining these four factors into an equally weighted construction score, we were able to rank all of the towns and cities for their overall construction activity.
“Warrington came second overall with a construction score of 7.15.
“Warrington’s high score was supported by the huge number of construction vacancies listed in the area – as many as 309.76 per 100,000 people – while it also benefited from a very high success rate for planning applications at 94.83 per cent.”
