YOU learn a thing or two about a rugby league club when you are employed by them for 25 years.

Lee Briers, who has now moved into his new role as assistant coach at Wigan Warriors, says there are areas at Warrington Wolves that he believes need improvement beyond the coaching and on-field performance.

He said: "I could pick plenty out, but you could do that at every club and I’m not really going to go into what I think they need to do because that’s not my problem.

"I’m going to be working against them from now on. Even though Warrington Wolves is always going to be my club, my job now is to beat them.

"They’ll work it out. They’ve got a very smart coach in Daryl Powell.

"Stuart Middleton (chairman) is doing more at board level now so he can manage the club, which is a really smart move.

"The club are in really good hands. They’ve got two fantastic owners in Stuart and Simon Moran. Simon has been a massive inspiration for me along the way and showed massive loyalty to myself. I’ll always be in debt to him.

"We were striving to win a Grand Final. Unfortunately we couldn’t do that.

"I do, obviously, wish them well because I am a Warrington supporter and that will never leave me because of what we’ve been through for 25 years.

"I’ve got friends for life through the club.

"My phone’s always ready to go if anyone from the club ever needs me, I’m always here to help."
