A WINTER light festival will be coming to town next month.

Luminate light trail will take to Walton Gardens from November 24 – December 24, finishing just in time for Christmas.

The trail will start through the courtyard in front of the riding stables and follow a clearly defined route through the gardens.

The family-friendly winter light shows will also delight little ones as some parts of the trail also include interactive lighting installations, where they can enjoy the light play.

It typically takes families around 60-90 minutes to complete (depending on how quickly you walk through).

And director of Luminate, Daniel Maycock, cannot wait to get underway.

“We can’t wait to be open at Walton Gardens next month – it will be fantastic to bring our Luminate light trail to Warrington,” he said.

“We had been looking for an amazing venue that would suit our light trail and knowing Walton Gardens we thought it was something that would work.

“The venue has lots of hidden gardens and paths that we hadn’t seen before our site visit last year. We really feel the trail will be fantastic and we are lighting up the hall, gardens and around a 1.5km magical trail.”

Daniel, who grew up in the area and went to Bridgewater High, is renowned for his ability to put events on in the area.

In addition to Walton Gardens, four more Luminate events will take place across the UK.

He added: “The council have been very supportive and we look forward to working with them to deliver this event at Walton for the first time.”

Cllr Tony Higgins, Warrington Borough Council’s Cabinet Member for Leisure and Community, said: “Walton Hall and Gardens is a special place to visit day to day, so I’m delighted to see it be transformed into an amazing Winter Wonderland experience in the run up to the holidays.

“This enchanting trail is also the perfect event to enjoy in the run up to Christmas, with its festive feel and interesting activity like no other that will entertain the whole family.”
