THE police helicopter was called out after a large-scale brawl erupted in Lymm in the early hours of Saturday.
Cheshire Police received reports of a stabbing at the Cross at around 1.30am on October 16, with dog units also attending the scene.
An injured man was later located at Wythenshawe Hospital, although he had not been stabbed.
It is believed that he suffered a cut to one of his hands from a broken glass bottle, while a second casualty was treated in hospital after suffering facial injuries during the incident.
A force spokesman said: “Police received a report of a large disturbance occurring on Rectory Lane in Lymm at around 1.30am on Saturday, October 16.
“Officers spoke to a number of witnesses to establish the circumstances after it was reported a man had been stabbed.
“Air support and a police dog assisted in the search for the man, who was later located at Wythenshawe Hospital with injuries to his hand and had not been stabbed.
“Another man was taken to Warrington Hospital with facial injuries.”
