A TOWN centre street was shut after a serious assault on Friday night.
Police were called to Brick Street shortly before 7pm on October 15 after reports of a disturbance.
Officers arrested a 49-year-old man on suspicion of wounding with intent, but he has since been released on conditional bail.
A Cheshire Police spokesman said: “At 6.50pm on Friday, October 15, police were called to reports of a disturbance occurring outside a building on Brick Street.
“It involved a man and a 40-year-old woman.
“Officers arrested a 49-year-old local man on suspicion of wounding with intent.
“He has since been released on conditional bail.”
