MORE than 100 new cases of coronavirus were recorded in one area of Warrington this past week.

It comes as the vast majority of communities in the town saw a rise in infection rates (21), while four areas saw case numbers fall.

The highest number of new cases were detected in Lymm, with 117 recorded.

At the other end of the scale is Hulme, where 25 cases of coronavirus were registered.

Infection rates are published using Public Health England figures via an interactive map on the Government’s online coronavirus dashboard.
