A SUSPECT has been charged after four arrests were made in a shopping centre.
Plain clothes police officers detained three men – aged 23, 25 and 44 – and a 22-year-old woman in the Cockhedge Centre in Warrington town centre on suspicion of drugs offences after a chase on foot at around 2pm yesterday, Monday.
Mark Carey, from Liverpool, has since been charged with possession of a class A drug in connection with the incident and has been released on bail ahead of a court appearance next month.
The other three suspects remain in custody this afternoon, Tuesday.
A Cheshire Police spokesman said: “At around 2pm on October 11, officers from the Project Servator team were in the area of the Cockhedge Centre when they identified suspicious activity.
“Three men aged 44, 23 and 25 and a woman aged 22 were arrested on suspicion of drugs offences following a foot chase.
“A 44-year-old man has been charged with possession of a controlled class A drug and has been bailed to appear at Warrington Magistrates Court on November 3.
“The other three remain in custody.”
