A FREDDIE Mercury tribute night returned in Great Sankey as part of fundraising.

Eagle Sports Club hosted the evening in support of St Rocco’s Hospice, where £1800 was raised – and overall they have raised near £5,000 for the charity who provide free care for people with life-limiting illnesses

Chris and Margie Upham successfully held the same event in February 2020 and due to popular demand, they did so again last week with a tribute act for the Queen legend performing.

Guests enjoyed a fabulous party atmosphere, plenty of singing and dancing which was a joy to behold as it was the first proper night out for many for over 18 months.

Chris said: “Both the nights we have done were amazingly well supported and the feedback on both has been exceptionally positive so I think there is a possibility to probability that we can do two of them each year.

“But for now we are planning one for some time in February and if we can get our chosen artiste it promises to be one heck of a party.’

The couple have now been overwhelmed by the numerous calls and messages from those who attended.

Judging from the comments they say it is likely to be a sell-out and will ‘definitely be another fabulous party night.’
