HERE are seven sets of roadworks due to start in Warrington in the next few weeks.

You can find more public notices in the Local Listing section of the Warrington Guardian.

  • Liverpool Road and Lingley Green Avenue, Great Sankey

Liverpool Road is set to be closed from Laburnum Lane to Ravensthorpe between 8am and 5pm for one day on Sunday, October 24.

However, these carriageway resurfacing works are weather dependent and could take place on any Sunday over the following three weeks – excluding Halloween.

Diversions will be via Watkinson Way, Fiddlers Ferry Road, Widnes Road and Penketh Road.

Meanwhile, several new measures will come into place on Lingley Green Avenue in various stages from Friday, November 26, as part of ongoing roadworks in the area.

Lingley Green Avenue will initially be shut from the junction with Liverpool Road to the roundabout with Park Road from 8am to 6pm.

This stretch of road will then be closed around the clock in both directions for a period as work progresses.

A 20mph speed restriction will also come into force in this area and on the A57 from Lingley Green Avenue to Laburnum Lane.

Restrictions were originally imposed for six months from December last year, but due to delays onsite these will now remain in place until December 17 2021.

  • Manchester Road, Rixton

The A57 will be closed between junction 21 of the M6 and Warburton Bridge Road for eight weeks from Monday, October 25, between the hours of 7pm and 1am.

Diversion will be via Glazebrook Lane, Holcroft Lane, Birchwood Way and Woolston Grange Avenue as a result of the resurfacing work.

  • Alder Root Lane, Winwick

The road will shut between Alder Lane and the borough’s boundary with St Helens between 8am and 5pm on Wednesday, October 20, when Network Rail will be clearing vegetation from the railway bridge.

Motorists can follow an alternative route via Alder Lane, Hollins Lane, Newton Road, Winwick Road, Mill Lane, Church Street, High Street, Crow Lane East or Alder Lane, Fir Tree Lane, Lumber Lane, Collins Green Lane, Penkford Lane, Pennington Lane, Common Road, Crown Lane West and Crow Lane East.

  • Various roads in Callands and Orford

Carriageway and pavement resurfacing work is planned on Fairbourne Close, Ruthin Close, Croswell Close, Granston Close, Penmark Close, Livingstone Close and St David’s Drive in Callands – as well as Amelia Street in Orford.

The works will take place over seven weeks from Monday, October 25, between the hours of 8.30am and 5.30pm.

  • Bradshaw Lane, Grappenhall

The route will be closed for four weeks between the junctions with Thelwall New Road and Springfield Avenue from Monday, October 11.

This is to allow Cadent Gas to carry out investigatory works on pipelines, with diversions in place via Thelwall New Road, Higher Knutsford Road and Knutsford Road.

  • Warrington Lane, Lymm

The road will be closed from Burford Lane to Agden Lane for two days beginning on Wednesday, October 20, between the hours of 9.30am and 3.30pm.

BT will be carrying out works on its overhead network during these times.

An alternative route will take motorists via Burford Lane, Higher Lane and Lymm Road.

  • Green Lane, Winwick

Gas main replacement works will shut the road between Golborne Road and Green Lane Close for three weeks from Monday, October 11.

Diversions are via Golborne Road and Newton Road.
