A WARRINGTON man has published a book being described as a possible ‘game changer’ for football coaches of all levels.

Local football coach Carl Wild’s critically acclaimed book was labelled as Amazon’s “Hottest New Football Release” when made available for pre-order last month.

The book’s brilliant reviews come as a great boost to local sport, with Stockton Heath resident Wild having involved himself in grassroots football throughout his career, while holding numerous roles within the Football Association.

Currently lead coach for Chester FC’s junior sides from under 9s to under 14s and formerly Foundation Phase Lead for Manchester City Girls Academy, Wild has vast experience in the professional game having been a coach mentor, a coach educator and now delivering on a number of the Football Association’s coaching awards.

In addition to this, Wild is currently Programme Leader for the BA (Hons) in Football Coaching and Management course at University Campus of Football Business (UCFB).

The book – titled ‘The Intelligent Soccer Coach: Player-Centred Sessions to Develop Confident, Creative Players’ – has been praised for breaking new ground in football coaching advice, providing an insight not just to ‘what’ a coach should do, but more importantly the ‘why.’

It can be seen as an essential tool for any aspiring coach and a book that coaches can continue to use as they progress in their careers.

When asked about the new release, Wild said: “Firstly, it was great to get all the really positive feedback from coaches that I not only respect but also look up to and regularly learn from.

“I just hope the book helps as many coaches as possible, which in turn will benefit the development and the enjoyment of lots of young footballers.”

Liz Evans, of Meyer & Meyer Sport said: “The Intelligent Soccer Coach is brilliant and quite likely game-changing! We can’t wait to hear the feedback from those that have had a chance to put Carl’s advice into practice.”
