ANOTHER death of a patient that had contracted coronavirus has been recorded at Warrington Hospital over the weekend.
The sad news was confirmed by Warrington and Halton Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust this afternoon, Monday in its latest Covid-19 update.
It means that as a result, the hospital’s virus death toll since the start of the pandemic has risen to 529.
As of this afternoon, 28 beds at the Lovely Lane site are occupied by patients that have tested positive for Covid in the past 14 days or less.
Of this number, four are in the hospital’s intensive care unit.

This is a rise of three patients in total since Friday, while the number in ICU has also risen by one.
However, five more patients were discharged from the hospital over the weekend after recovering from coronavirus.
This takes the trust’s Covid-19 discharge total to date to 2,310.
