MOST communities across Warrington saw their coronavirus infection rates fall this past week, latest figures show.

In total, 16 areas recorded falls in Covid-19 infections over the most recent seven-day period, while seven saw cases rise and two were unchanged.

The area which saw the largest fall was Latchford, where the number of new virus cases detected fell by 24 compared to the previous week.

However, Callands and Old Hall and Houghton Green and Fearnhead both experienced the largest rises –up 14 cases on the week previous.

Infection rates are published using Public Health England figures via an interactive map on the Government’s online coronavirus dashboard.

At the time of writing, the map displayed the number and rate of new cases in each area of Warrington in the seven days up to September 18.

  • Orford – 37 (413 – down 22 cases)
  • Stockton Heath and Hillcliffe – 31 (343.8 – up 2 cases)
  • Houghton Green and Fearnhead – 30 (376.2 – up 14 cases)
  • Fairfield and Howley – 30 (253.3 – down 23 cases)
  • Lymm – 30 (238.8 – up 2 cases)
  • Kingswood and Whittle Hall – 29 (272.7 – no change)
  • Hulme – 28 (338 – up 1 case)
  • Central Warrington – 27 (233.6 – down 6 cases)
  • Hood Manor and Sankey Bridges – 26 (288.8 – up 3 cases)
  • Bewsey and Dallam – 24 (285.1 – down 1 case)
  • Oakwood and Gorse Covert – 18 (340.2 – no change)
  • Great Sankey – 16 (217.9 – up 2 cases)
  • Grappenhall and Thelwall – 16 (205.5 – down 3 cases)
  • Appleton – 15 (266.1 – down 9 cases)
  • Culcheth East and Hollins Green – 15 (235.3 – down 11)
  • Woolston – 15 (221.3 – down 13 cases)
  • Latchford – 14 (144.1 – down 24 cases)
  • Culcheth West and Croft – 13 (180.6 – down 4 cases)
