YOUNG football fans are being given the chance to combine sharpening their skills with theme park thrills this weekend.

Gulliver's World theme park and resort, located in Old Hall, is hosting a football camp sleepover for young fanatics and their families.

The special weekend, running tomorrow, Friday, to Sunday, will include a skills camp with qualified coaches, family access to rides and attractions and the chance to spend the night in unique accommodation.

Check in is available from 4pm tomorrow, with children's entertainment in the evening.

On Saturday, everyone will start the day with an in-room breakfast bag including a pastry, fruit, muffin and juice carton.

From 10am to 3pm, boys and girls aged between four and 11 can show off their skills and learn new moves and tricks at the camp run by Soccer Star Coaching.

All coaches are FA qualified, DBS checked, child protection certified and emergency aid qualified.

Players of all abilities are welcome and the camps will have a fun and friendly atmosphere.

Lunch and unlimited squash will be provided to keep energy levels high, as well as a medal and certificate as a memento of the weekend.

Parents and carers can spectate or take the time to relax during the camp, or they have the option to visit the theme park with a football player sibling.

From 3pm to 5pm, the whole family can explore the park's various rides and attractions, including Desperado Drop and Togo Tower.

The excitement does not stop there, with a range of unique accommodation for the sleepover, including the Dino Den, Unicorn Room and Nerf Themed Suite.

After a good night's sleep, there is more football and theme park fun on Sunday.

Mel Burrows-Carr, resort manager at Gulliver's World, said: “Our football camp sleepover is going to be great fun for young fans and their families.

“All abilities are welcome, so whether your child is the next Harry Kane or Steph Houghton or just a lover of the beautiful game, we cannot wait to welcome them to this unique weekend.”
