A MOTORIST who got behind the wheel after drinking and crashed into another vehicle has been fined by the courts.
Aaron Corby, who was driving a black Vauxhall Corsa, was involved in an accident with a white taxi on the evening of Saturday, August 28.
It occurred on Buttermarket Street at the junction with Orford Street.
The 34-year-old was arrested by officers from Cheshire Police’s special constabulary team, who were on patrol in the town centre.
Corby, of The Old Quays in Latchford, was subsequently charged with driving a motor vehicle when his alcohol level was above the legal limit.
A breath test conducted while in custody revealed he had 117 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of his breath.
The legal limit in England, Wales and Northern Ireland is 35 micrograms per 100 millilitres of breath.
He appeared before Warrington Magistrates’ Court yesterday, Wednesday, where he was disqualified from driving for 28 months.
He was also fined £883 and ordered to pay £85 in court costs and an £83 victim surcharge.
