FIREFIGHTERS have warned residents to switch off kitchen appliances when they are not in use after a fire in Penketh.
Crews from Penketh and Widnes fire stations rushed to a house on Woodley Fold at around 10.30am this morning.
On arrival and after donning breathing apparatus, they found a dishwasher had been on fire.
After waking the scene safe, firefighters also used a large fan to disperse the smoke from the heavily smoke-logged kitchen.
