A park in East Sussex has been ranked one of the most loved in the UK outside of London.

With its white cliffs straddling the coastline, Seven Sisters Country Park came second in the list, with a park score of 6.5 out of ten.

However, the park narrowly missed out on the top spot to Christ Church Meadow, in Oxfordshire, with its score of 6.62.

The study by PoundToy looked at TripAdvisor reviews and annual Google searches to create its list of the nation’s parks.

Seven Sisters came tenth when parks from the capital are included, with Richmond Park, Regent's Park and Hampstead Heath topping the list.

PoundToy described the Seaford park as “one of the most iconic natural sites in the country.”

“The park also proves popular as a result of its facilities such as toilets, car parks and cafes, helping to keep families catered for whilst visiting this beautiful natural wonder.”

Tilgate Park in Crawley also made it into the top 30 most loved in the UK, placing 21st in the list - and 12th among parks outside of London.
