POLICE are urging residents of a Warrington street to report any suspicious activity.

This follows a spate of burglaries on Ashberry Drive in Appleton Thorn.

Two properties have been targeted over recent weeks, with one incident seeing a collection of expensive and sentimental jewellery stolen.

The first occurred at 9.15pm on Friday, September 3, when three men forced their way into a house while it was unoccupied.

The men searched the property and stole a quantity of sentimental jewellery, including three rings, two necklaces, two gold link chains and a Longines watch, before fleeing.

The second incident involved an attempted burglary on the same street at around 11.55pm on Friday, September 10.

The occupants were inside the property at the time, when three men attempted to force their way inside.

The burglars failed to enter the property and fled the scene. Officers carried out a thorough search of the area, but the men could not be located.

A social media post from the force’s Appleton Police account reads: “Please be aware there has been house burglaries on Ashberry drive in Appleton.

“If you see any suspicious vehicles from midnight to 6am, please report them via our police 101 number.”
