A STRANGER ‘covered in blood’ pushed a woman against her car outside a shop last night.

The man, who was allegedly under the influence of alcohol, reportedly followed the victim down Orford Lane at around 8pm yesterday, Sunday, before attacking her.

But he fled the scene, near to the Co-op store, after she fought him off.

Police attended the scene but did not find the man, with officers’ enquiries ‘ongoing’.

A Cheshire Police spokesman said: “At 7.55pm on Sunday, September 12, police were called to reports of an incident outside the Co-op on Orford Lane.

“The caller reported seeing an unknown man who appeared intoxicated and was bleeding from his head – the woman approached the man and asked if he was ok.

“He said yes, before following her and pushing her against a car.

“She pushed the man away before leaving the scene.

“The woman did not wish to make a complaint about the incident, but wanted to make officers aware.

“Officers attended the scene but there was no trace of the man.”

Anyone with information is urged to contact the force on 101, quoting incident number IML1083679.
