TWO paddleboarders had a shock when they spotted a seal in the Mersey.
After around two hours of paddleboarding, father and son, Carl and Nathan Slocombe, spotted the mammal nearby to the Westy Trail which ‘came out of nowhere’.
Nathan, from Padgate, said: “It was amazing!
“I couldn’t believe it, it was so spectacular.”
The seal followed them for around three miles – even trying to join them for a paddleboard session!
Nathan added: “Seeing stuff like this makes me want to get into paddleboarding more.”
