MORE than half of areas across Warrington managed to slow the spread of coronavirus over the past week.

In total, 15 areas of the town saw the number of Covid cases recorded fall over the past seven-day period, while 10 saw infection rates rise.

The largest fall was seen in Fairfield and Howley, and despite having the highest number of cases in the town, this total fell by half from the week previous.

At the other end of the scale is Bewsey and Dallam and Locking Stumps, with both areas seeing their Covid case total rising by seven.

Infection rates are published using Public Health England figures via an interactive map on the Government’s online coronavirus dashboard.
