ONE patient at Warrington Hospital that had contracted coronavirus died over the bank holiday weekend.
The sad news was confirmed by Warrington and Halton Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in its daily Covid-19 briefing.
It means that the trust’s virus death toll to date has now reached 518.
As of this afternoon, Wednesday, 24 beds at the Lovely Lane site are occupied by patients that have tested positive for coronavirus in the past 14 days or less.
Of this number, four patients are in the hospital’s intensive care unit.

This is a rise of one patient in total since Friday, while the number in ICU has increased by three.
Meanwhile, 20 patients have been discharged from the hospital since Friday afternoon after recovering from Covid-19.
This takes the hospital’s virus discharge total since the start of the pandemic to 2,223.
