THE number of patients receiving care for coronavirus at Warrington Hospital has fallen.
This is according to the latest virus update given by Warrington and Halton Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust this afternoon, Wednesday.
At present, the Lovely Lane site has 18 admitted patients that have tested positive for Covid-19 in the past 14 days or less.
Of this number, three are in the hospital’s intensive care unit.
This is a fall of four patients in total since yesterday, Tuesday, while the number of patients in ICU remains the same.
Moreover, seven more patients have been discharged from the hospital after recovering from coronavirus.
This takes the trust’s virus discharge total since the start of the pandemic to 2,197.
Additionally, no new Covid deaths have been recorded in the past 24 hours, with the hospital’s coronavirus death toll remaining at 517.

Across Warrington as a whole, the number of new Covid cases detected has seen a slight rise.
The latest figures from Public Health England showed that in the week before August 20, which is the most recent period for which data is available, a total of 716 new coronavirus cases were recorded in the town.
This equates to a rate of 341.9 for every 100,000 residents, which is the 99th highest rate among all local authority areas in England.
By comparison, in the seven days leading up to August 13 there were 706 infections in the borough – or 337.2 per 100,000.
Warrington was one of 214 local authority areas to see an increase in cases between these two dates, while 97 saw a fall and one was unchanged.
