STEVE Price has confirmed that Gareth Widdop is back in the mix for Warrington Wolves' clash with Wakefield Trinity on Sunday.

He has provided early team news after a positive week of training that has followed Sunday's match against Hull FC being postponed due to a Covid-19 outvreak in the Airlie Birds' camp.

"Gaz is doing really well. He's flying at the minute and he will come into consideration, as will Matty Ashton," said The Wire head coach.

"Jason Clark is getting very close but I don't think he'll make this weekend. Other than that we're all pretty healthy."

Having Widdop fit for the final rounds of the season and then potentially the play-offs is a huge bonus for Warrington.

"Gaz was one of the form players of the competition before he got injured," said Price.

"He copped a serious injury on his knee but credit goes to how hard he's worked with his rehab and also our medical staff to get him back up and running.

"He was happy and buzzing around after the boys today which was positive."
