A ‘KIND-HEARTED little boy’ has donated his hair to a charity who help provide wigs for others resultant of ‘unimaginable conditions’.

Kate Toutountzi’s son Lukas, aged seven, has been growing his hair for around 12 months to support the Little Princess Trust.

The charity provides free real hair wigs to children and young people, up to 24 years, who have lost their own hair through cancer treatment or other conditions.

And Lukas braved the cut at Andrew James in Grappenhall, which has raised £584.

“I’m extremely proud. I’m blown away with how much he’s raised,” Kate, who lives in Grappenhall, said.

“We wanted to do something for charity and we wanted to give something back. The only thing he could give at this moment in time, due to Covid, was his hair, that’s why we chose this charity. He’s a very kind-hearted little soul and he thinks about others quite a lot."

And Kate, is really pleased that her son Lukas, who goes to St Wilfrid’s Primary School, can support the charity.

“It’s a small charity and I think the smaller charities get missed,” she continued.

“Although it can’t take away the pain, it’s going to help deal with the unimaginable things that they’re going through and the turmoil of it all.”

Kate hailed the environment at Andrew James to help make the trim a success. Lukas’ hair has been trimmed to keep it healthy over recent months, but there was 12 months of length to get through.

“It was wonderful. They’ve always been brilliant. It’s Jackie that normally does his hair who did the big cut. She’s explained the process because it’s months and months of doing as you can imagine. She’s looked after Lucas and they’re really child-friendly, you always feel welcome there."
