FROM crystals to CVs – a Warrington mum has made her dream a reality after going full time with her business.

Laura Constantinou, founder of Good Copy, launched her business as a part time venture in a bid to empower women, in particular mums.

After being managed out of a previous job role when she was on maternity leave, being told ‘this is why we hire men,’ Laura made it her mission to arm herself with knowledge and ‘elevate’ her skills to make sure no other mum experienced what she did, or felt how she felt.

The 33 year old launched Good Copy, a ‘professional approach’ to CV and cover letter writing, last year after high levels of redundancies occurred as a result of the pandemic.

Laura’s business received ‘astronomical’ support from the get go after being supported by her friends and family as well as Anna Whitehouse, who is an influencer with over 300,000 followers who are predominately mothers.

The Great Sankey businesswoman wants to help people feel valued, confident, and seen.

She said: ‘‘The basic principles of my business are incredibly important.

‘‘Now more than ever the job market is incredibly saturated and more competitive than ever.

‘‘A bespoke CV that's free from the usual cliches is an essential tool in your toolkit when applying for a new role, and it goes without saying that the more thought and dedication that has gone into your CV, the more successful your application will be.

‘‘On an emotional level, I think that we are tired of the trope of women being useless in the workplace after having children.

‘‘We are the ultimate multitaskers, our brains are constantly turned up to 11 and we are an asset to any workplace.

‘‘I think it's important that the people who come to me for support see these qualities in themselves again, and slowly start to believe them once more.’’

Laura plans to keep the momentum rolling for Good Copy and to keep building her brand and employability content.

She currently operates through her Instagram and emails but has a website on the way.

Laura added: ‘‘My story isn't a new one, and this sadly won't be the last time it's told, but I feel like I've taken my career into my own hands and on the upcoming first birthday of Good Copy, MY own business, I can confidently say that I know I'm doing the right thing for me, and most importantly, for my daughter.

‘‘She loved the crystals, what 6 year old wouldn't, but she loves having Mum home more!’’
