ONLY one area of Warrington experienced a rise in coronavirus infections this past week.

It comes as every other area of the town saw Covid infection rates fall, mirroring the town as a whole and the rest of the UK.

Kingswood and Whittle Hall was the biggest faller, with the week up to July 25 recording 54 less cases of Covid-19 than the week previous.

At the other end of the scale, Locking Stumps saw a slight rise of three cases to 16 – although it remains the least infected area of Warrington.

Infection rates are published using Public Health England figures via an interactive map on the Government’s online coronavirus dashboard.

At the time of writing, the map displayed the number and rate of new cases in each area of Warrington in the seven days up to July 25.
