SWIMMERS James Guy and Kathleen Dawson are both expected to be in the Tokyo Olympics pool at lunchtime in pursuit of medals.

Former Cardinal Newman High School student Guy, who won gold with the Team GB men's 4x200m freestyle relay team yesterday, is in heat eight of the men's 100m fly scheduled for 12.01pm (UK time).

And 20 minutes later Great Sankey's Kathleen Dawson, who started out with Warriors of Warrington, is expected to be in the team representing Team GB contesting heat one of the mixed 4x100m medley relay at Tokyo Aquatics Centre.

The Team GB relay team has not been officially listed at the time of writing, though Adam Peaty is also expected to feature.

Guy was also understood to be in the team, but that may not be the case given his individual event 20 minutes previous.

In the individual 100m fly, Guy has the third fastest entry time of 50.96 and will have the company of USA's Dressel Caeleb (49.50) and Russian Olympic Committee's Minakov Andrei (50.83) for company in his heat.

Coverage of these events is expected on BBC Two television.
