BRIDGEWATER High School is amongst the schools in Warrington that will be joining in with the excitement of what promises to be a spectacular Tour of Britain in September.

The Appleton school will be putting on a show for the helicopter cameras covering the race and making their school a landmark which can be seen from the skies through a range of activities.

Using special line-marking equipment the children will create eye catching images which will be picked up by the cameras and seen by audiences across the world.

They will also be getting active by holding special rugby league and football matches on their fields.

Bridgewater pupils are also looking forward to lining the route on the day.

Tim Long, principal at the school, said: “At Bridgewater High School we are excited and proud to be supporting the Tour of Britain.

‘‘We have activities on the day including rugby league and football.

‘‘Our year sevens will be lining the route on London Road as the peloton passes, which I hope will set them up for a year of enthusiastic learning and participating in sporting activities.”
