WARRINGTON Hospital has seen a fall in the number of patients receiving care for coronavirus in its intensive care unit.
The positive news was confirmed by Warrington and Halton Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust this afternoon, Friday, in its daily Covid-19 update.
At present, 24 beds at the Lovely Lane site are occupied by patients that have tested positive for coronavirus in the past 14 days or less.
Of this number, six are in the hospital’s intensive care unit.
Although the total number of coronavirus patients being cared for remains the same as yesterday, the number in ICU has fallen by two.

One more patient has been discharged from the hospital after recovering from the virus.
This takes the hospital’s Covid-19 discharge total since the start of the pandemic to 2,087
No new Covid deaths have been recorded in the past 24 hours, with the trust’s death toll remaining at 506.
