A COOK has retired after more than 25 years in a primary school’s kitchen.

Maureen Bradbury hung up her chef’s hat on Wednesday, July 21, after 26 years of ‘dedicated service’ to St Oswald’s Catholic Primary School in Padgate.

Helen Lennon, head teacher at the Padgate Lane school, said: “Mrs Bradbury has been part of our school for 26 years, and in that time has served many children – watching them grow from little four-year-olds in reception to 11-year-olds ready for high school.

“Mrs Bradbury has always taken the time to get to know the children’s names and remembers what they like, and don’t like, to eat.

“We sincerely thank Mrs Bradbury for her long service and dedication to our school.

“Maureen has provided tasty and healthy meals for the children over the years and has provided Christmas lunch for 26 years for children, staff and governors.

“Mrs Bradbury is looking forward to spending more time with her family, especially her little granddaughter.

“We will sincerely miss Maureen, our dear colleague and friend.

“Wishing you well on your retirement Mrs Bradbury – enjoy the rest.”
