A YOUNG motorcyclist has sadly died after being involved in a serious three-vehicle crash in Winwick yesterday, Wednesday.
The accident occurred near to Leigh's Animal Feed Store at the junction of Hollins Lane and Watery Lane shortly before midday.
It involved a black Yamaha motorcycle, a blue Ford Fiesta and a yellow combine harvester.
The rider of the motorbike, a 19-year-old man, sustained serious injuries in the collision from which he sadly could not recover.
Police say his next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.
A spokesman for Cheshire Police said: “At 11.54am on Wednesday, 21 July, officers were called to the junction of Hollins Lane and Watery Lane following reports of a collision involving three vehicles – a black Yamaha motorcycle, a blue Ford Fiesta and a yellow combine harvester.
“Sadly, the motorcyclist, a 19-year-old man, died at the scene.
“His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.
“Police are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision or may have captured dashcam footage of the vehicles around the time of the incident to come forward.”

Road closures were in place following the accident at the junction of Alder Lane and Watery Lane.
