A CAR crashed into a building on a major route into the town centre this afternoon.

The vehicle smashed into the front entrance of Totally Wicked vape shop on Knutsford Road at around 2.30pm today, Tuesday.

Police and paramedics attended the scene, at the junction with Miller Street.

It is believed that only minor injuries were sustained by casualties during the collision, which involved two cars – a Renault Clio and a Vauxhall Viva.

And no structural damage is thought to have been caused to the building.

The road was temporarily closed as a result, but had reopened by 4pm.
