WARRINGTON Wolves' trip to Hull KR on Sunday has been thrown into serious doubt.

The Wire have confirmed several of their players have been ruled out of the game, either as a result of positive Covid-19 tests or being stood down as close contacts.

Two further players have returned positive lateral flow tests today and both have now undergone PCR tests - the results of which are expected tomorrow.

The club insist they remain keen to fulfil the fixture if possible but that a final decision will be made tomorrow.

"A decision on whether the Betfred Super League fixture between Hull KR and Warrington Wolves can go ahead as scheduled on Sunday will be made tomorrow (Saturday)," a club statement read.

"The Club have a number of players ruled out either as confirmed Covid-19 positives or as close contacts, and the ability to fulfil the fixture has been threatened by two further lateral flow positives today (Friday).

"The results of subsequent PCR tests on those players are expected on Saturday lunchtime.

"Both clubs remain keen to play the game if possible, and also to keep supporters and other stakeholders informed of the situation."
