In the early 1960s when I was 12 to 13, on a Saturday afternoon, I went to the fish market.
My Auntie Doris had the tripe stall, my Auntie Marie worked with her.
It was the stall on the right of your picture, all shuttered up by the 1970s.
My mum worked on Seaton’s sweet stall with Dorothy Oxley.
We bought fruit and veg from Mr Somerfield and cheese from Mottersheads and fish from the stall next to the tripe stall.
Such characters of the old market.
Happy days.
