RONAN Keating will perform at Haydock Park, it has been announced.

The star will be the Friday night headliner for the Newton racecourse's Rose of Lancaster Carnival, taking place from Friday, August 6 to Sunday 8.

With three days of action and entertainment to choose from both on and off the track, Keating will take to the stage after the racing on the Friday evening, performing hits from his successful solo career as well as from his time with 90s pop-group Boyzone.

After the original break up of Boyzone, Keating has scored two back-to-back Number One singles, as well as 11 studio albums, multiple tours and 20 million records, on top of the 25 million sold with Boyzone.

The feature event of the carnival comes in the shape of Saturday’s Group Three race – the MansionBet Rose of Lancaster Stakes. On the Sunday there will be a family fun day, ensuring that the weekend includes something for everyone.

Dickon White, regional director of Jockey Club Racecourses North West, said: “It’s been an incredibly challenging time for everyone over the past year or so but we can think of no better way to launch the Rose of Lancaster Carnival than with Ronan Keating taking to the stage on the Friday night at Haydock Park.”

Tickets for the carnival start at £39.20 and are on sale now here
