NEW town centre restaurant Hani'z will be operating as a self-service buffet from now on – after trialling table service for the first week.
Due to current Covid restrictions, the Bridge Street eatery opened only for sit-down customers initially.
But owner Zahid Iqbal found that by removing alcohol from the menu, it would be within the rules for visitors to serve themselves on an all-you-can-eat basis.
That was the original vision he had for his world buffet restaurant which was supposed to open in May 2020 before it was hampered by the pandemic.
On offer are 16 to 18 starters, 14 main courses, around five pizzas, five rice and noodle dishes, seven or eight desserts and ice cream as well as a large variety of sundries.
There is also an introductory offer this Wednesday and Thursday for people to try out Hani'z
On those days, the buffet costs £9.99 instead of the usual £14.95.
Zahid's aim is to offer families a special meal out without breaking the bank.
There is room for about 180 people in the restaurant, which was formerly a Peacocks store.
