THE organisers of Stockton Heath Festival have arranged a small number of events to give people a taster of the usual community celebration.

The Expedition restaurant and bar will be hosting a comedy night on August 19 featuring Brennan Reece, Hayley Ellis and Martin Moore.

Then there will be a family fun day at the Red Lion on August 21. The day starts at 10am with the first of three fun classes for families with babies and toddlers from Hartbeeps.

For older children, Crazy Kris's magic show is at 1pm and there will be two Punch and Judy shows from 3pm.

The festival taster finishes with a set by the Beard Band at the pub from 7.30pm.

Stockton Heath was originally supposed to take place from July 2 to 5 but the event's trustees felt there was too little time and too much uncertainty for them to be able to organise the festival during the pandemic.

Festival chair Andrew Renshaw said: "It is exciting to be able to run these events in association with the Stockton Heath Parish Council, especially in light of the festival previously being postponed amid Covid.

"We hope that people will come and enjoy the events and look forward to visiting the festival in full swing in 2022."
