THIS week marks the fourth anniversary since a dad from Newton-le-Willows went missing.

His family stress they will "always love him" and that they miss him deeply.

Trevor Farthing was last seen in the Marshalls Cross Road area, at about 9.30am on Wednesday, June 21, 2017. He disappeared with just the clothes on his back.

During the past four years, police have made extensive enquiries to find the dad of three daughters, but all searches have proved unsuccessful.

His family, including partner Marie Comber, have also made repeated emotional appeals to trace him and to get him "home with where he belongs".

They have previously appealed directly to him, saying: "Trevor, we love you always, we miss you and we want you to come home."

Speaking on the anniversary of his disappearance, Marie said: "Trevor struggled with mental health throughout his life but pulled himself through it most of the time, but when he went missing he was struggling really badly.

"He had started taking medication which added to the way he was feeling, before he left he began to have anxiety seizures and we were getting him help from the hospital to understand what was happening.

"We love and miss him more than anything and would love to know if he's OK, no matter where he may be or what he's doing.

"We were together for more than 30 years and have known each since childhood."

The couple would love spending time outdoors, with Marie adding: "We did everything together and we used to walk, cycle, create and build craft together and enjoyed our family life with our children together, who are now adults."

She said the difficulty is not knowing where he is and what has happened.

Marie said everyday is hard and Trevor is never far from the family's minds: "We have found it really hard to move on as not knowing is just the hardest.

"You are constantly looking for him no matter where you go, be that a homeless man a man with a bald head man with a beard, an unkempt man in the woods at the local beauty spot or water.

"You are always looking as Trevor liked to walk.

"He liked nature and liked to wonder in the woods around the canals beauty spots and of the regular paths – sometimes he walked for miles.

"It would be the best thing in world to know if he is OK, then maybe we could carry on."

Trevor is described as 5ft 5 ins tall, with blue eyes. At the time, he had a shaved bald head.

His right arm has a full sleeve of tattoos.

He was known to visit the canal near the Bradlegh Road area of Newton-le-Willows.
